The list will be coming home in their blue folder today.  I have sent notebook paper home with them, so they can do their homework for the week.

10's and 1's

Math is always more fun with manipulatives.  

My SUPERSTARS learned about tens and ones over the past three weeks.  This isn't always an easy concept to grasp.  Using the ten rods and ones made "seeing" the numbers much easier.  

My class is full of geniuses!

We learned....

My first graders learned what a scientist is....and they learned....

 THEY ARE SCIENTISTS!!

This anchor chart was created during interactive writing.  

I can't tell you how impressed I was with their hard work.  They spelled DARIN perfectly!

We write everyday - and let me tell you - I have some great authors in my class.  

For beginning first graders, they have talent.  

I also have some great illustrators.

First Day Jitters

I had a lot of students happy to start first grade, several nervous, and one sad.  

My sad student has come out of their shell!
