Catching Up

I am WAY behind on showing off my SUPERSTARS....I promise to do better from here on out.  

I love the way my SUPERSTAR board turned out, and my children were thrilled to see their pictures on the wall!

I have incorporated DAILY FIVE into my classroom this year, and it is going fabulously.

 I am a SLAVE DRIVER!!  My children are cleaning their desks!  (They LOVE it!)

They even like to clean under their desks!

THIS was an EXCITING day for my children.  The GILMER BUCKEYES came to visit.  The footballs players read a story to my class, encouraged the students to do their best in school, loved on them, and signed autographs.  I almost cried seeing my children so happy!  They were truly star-struck!

10's and 1's

Math is always more fun with manipulatives.  

My SUPERSTARS learned about tens and ones over the past three weeks.  This isn't always an easy concept to grasp.  Using the ten rods and ones made "seeing" the numbers much easier.  

My class is full of geniuses!

This anchor chart was created during interactive writing.  

I can't tell you how impressed I was with their hard work.  They spelled DARIN perfectly!

We write everyday - and let me tell you - I have some great authors in my class.  

For beginning first graders, they have talent.  

I also have some great illustrators.

First Day Jitters

I had a lot of students happy to start first grade, several nervous, and one sad.  

My sad student has come out of their shell!

Welcome New First Graders

Today was my first "official" day back to school.  

I received my class list and I am SO excited to meet my new babies.  Meet the Teacher can't come soon enough!

I have already started praying for my students, because I know that each child was placed in my care for a reason.

Field Day

We weren't sure we were going to be able to have Field Day due to the rainy weather.  Thankfully we were able to have field day ---- on the concrete.  It was a success none-the-less.

We played Limbo, but I couldn't get pictures of that game.  

I was the stick holder!

We did the Hula Hoop Contest!  I have some INCREDIBLY talented hula hoopers!

It got a bit boring waiting on turns to hula hoop!

Racing is always a must for Field Day......
